Treasure Island Resort

A new hotel will be built on the former Treasure Island Resort, which also has more than 50 acres of riverfront land and features a restaurant to entertain guests from 5 a. to 2 p. daily. A new clubhouse, dining room and banquet hall will replace all existing casino-related amenities and will be one of four new casinos to be built at this location in 2017. In addition to additional slot machines and a casino and video poker hall, visitors will enjoy a full meal in the adjacent restaurant from 6 a. The Mystic Lake Store at Mall of America is closed on Christmas Day and on Boxing Day. to 9 p. and can book their games at Treasure Island Resort and Casino. In addition, Treasure Island Resort has a new 24,000-square-foot ballroom, dining room, gift and gift shop, and lounge offering visitors complimentary Wi-Fi throughout day.

The resort has a total of six casinos: a total of nine slots, three tables and a table service area. The Treasure Island Resort Casino, located on Mount Frontenac Golf Course (the second largest golf course in Minnesota, will add $4 million in room tax payments after two years, a $1-million increase in hotel sales taxes and another $1 million in gaming room and equipment purchases. The Treasure Island casino boasts numerous dining options and beverages for two, two- or three-hours at each table.

Additionally, MGMst. Thomas slot machine and ballroom have been added to the resort, both adding $1 million to room tax payments for one year. Other casino additions will include a $100 million-plus gaming room, a $5 million-plus ballroom, a $10 million–$15 million table room and a $10 million—$15 million table service area. The resort also opened a $400 million building to provide 1,800 additional parking spaces and 500 additional garage slots in addition to casino floor spaces. The resort has also added about 12,000 total square feet of hotel parking space for guests and includes a $25 million underground parking lot for guests. Lucky Eagle Casino & Hotel has been operating in Crystal City since June. A $300 million hotel renovation at the old Mount Frontenac Golf Course will begin in February, 2017.

In February 2016, MGM announced plans to open a $700 million hotel development and casino in southwest Minnesota (the $8 million development will include 18 floors of new retail on the east side and an additional 8 floors of new restaurants). The Treasure Island Resort & Casino is a 16 million-square-foot property that opened on August 4, 1996.
