Frank Baum in a script entitled "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" which he wrote as a young man and which he revised in 1882, by a then unknown Lillian Hellman and which she passed off to MGM. It wasn't until 1939 that Baum became involved with the production, in a script titled "The Wizard of Oz: The Lost Story".
