Spirit of the Samurai

Spirit of the Samurai offers some interesting and innovative mechanics, however it doesn't really do enough to differentiate it from other slots games. Spirit of the Samurai's gameplay is actually quite simplistic. Pixel Samurai has three modes: Play, Solo, and Custom. The basic gameplay is really good though, so I recommend it for the gamer looking for a classic slot game in a modern setting.

The artwork of Spirit of the Samurai is beautiful and very detailed. I can't say that it stands on its own but it definitely helps to make the game feel more immersive and exciting when the reels are spinning. As for the controls, the buttons used are very simple compared to similar games out there. The Samurai Warrior Slot relies on multipliers that range from 5x to 10x. I actually had no difficulty in playing Spirit of the Samurai at all.

Spirit of the Samurai isn't a "one card" game, but it is an "out of the box" game that requires each player to assemble their deck using cards based on their personal play style.

Each game played from the main menu consists of various tracks and you can switch into the soundtrack by going into the game settings menu. Overall I have absolutely no complaints about Spirit of the Samurai. It's got some really interesting and entertaining mechanics, but it doesn't really stand on its own yet. It can be played in short sessions, so it can't claim to be a real stand-alone game at this point, but it should not be dismissed by anybody looking for a classic slot game in a modern setting.

The music used on the reels of Spirit of the Samurai has a nice retro feel to it, as if it's a classic Japanese gaming console in its time.
